We have some exciting results from this weekend where we competed at the American Debate Leagues Winter Classic Tournament at Brooklyn Tech High School!

Early Scholars received 3rd place in the school sweepstakes! Congratulations to everyone who debated this weekend. Early Scholars also SWEPT 1ST PLACE SPEAKER AWARDS IN ALL DIVISIONS WE COMPETED!!!! In Elementary School, Gia Rudra was awarded 1st place speaker. In Middle School Beginner, Katherine Wan was awarded 1st place speaker. In Middle School Intermediate, Luiz Takata was awarded 1st place speaker.

Anaya Koswatta was awarded 4th place speaker and Raveen Medage was awarded 10th place speaker in middle school beginner. Anaya and Raveen took the win in their division with 1st place team overall!!!! Sebastian and Jonathan Marks were awarded 2nd place team in middle school beginner and this was their first tournament ever! Congrats to the twins! Austin Guo was awarded 7th place speaker.  The team of Luiz Takata and Austin Guo won 4th place in the middle school intermediate division! Olivia Fang was awarded 13th place speaker in middle school intermediate.  The team of Olivia Fang and Karen Wang was in 9th place in the middle school intermediate division!

Our Early Scholars alumni were also at the tournament! Congrats to Methulia Medage who was awarded 10th place speaker! Next month, some of our middle schoolers will take a trip to Cambridge to debate at the 50th annual Harvard National tournament.
